Life Is Delicious …. Taking a Bite Out Of South Park

This month we are featuring a few of South Park’s most hush hush spots nestled amongst historical and craftsman homes that will charm your socks off!  So go ahead take a Bite!!!

Buena Forchetta

Buona Forchetta is a casual dining hot spot where friends and families come to enjoy savory foods and wonderful wine. Their menu caters to all palettes and is sure to provide something even the pickiest eater will appreciate.  But that’s not all, this festive Italian restaurant offers a beautiful and inviting seating arrangement on the patio that sparkles with lights and oozes Italian charm.  The wait staff is also very friendly and very very Italian.  As for the food, they’ve been      “ Pizza Champions in the World” for 5 years in a row.  My favorite thing to eat is Pizza in a Jar, the garlic artichoke appetizer, the fattatore salad, the eggplant appetizer and definitely the PIZZA is a must.

South Park Brewery

Honest fish and thoughtfully crafted beer!!! A casual eatery and brew house that offers A seasonal selection of fish that is available with a variety of flavors, from brown butter-garlic to beer battered and Asian umami (a house made Unagi sauce), and preparations, including tacos, sandwiches and bowls with seasonal veggies. The all-seafood menu also includes ceviche, oysters, house-smoked fish, salmon or ahi poke prepared to order and renditions of chorizo and Birria made with fish; there is also be a market component retailing fresh seafood and their house made items.  The thing is, I have a tough time recommending anything at this place because all of it is equally delicious and mouth-watering!!  Try it and you’ll see what I mean!!!

Brabant

An authentic Belgian style-pub nestled in the cozy, friendly South Park neighborhood of San Diego. Kids are welcome and well-behaved dogs allowed on patio 🙂  But the best part about this little gem is the European feel that you get from the warmth of the old textured walls, the woodwork, the European flags, the beer selection and most importantly the delicious food.  One of my favorite things to eat there is obviously anything Belgian Waffle because they do it so well.  However, their “Moules Frites” is a must; It is basically a cast iron pot sizzling with yummy muscles in luscious heartwarming broth.  They have 5 different varieties and my personal favorite is the “Mariniere” which is a lemon garlic broth to die for.  Make sure to sop up every last bit of it with the delicious fire grilled crusty bread that comes with it!!!!

Rose wine Bar

This quaint English style sanctuary in the heart of the historic district of South Park offers a wonderful selection of small production wines from around the world, craft beers, and a light food menu.  This is truly a romantic and lovely place for date night or just get your girls together and indulge!  They have some great Rose wine on hand that is sure to change your mind about pink wine; in a word, Delicious!! And don’t forget to order their delicious empanadas, flatbread and the lamb lollipops.  Just Divine!!!
